Schiller's Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy places your education at the center of global politics: you study in capitals where international decisions are made — Madrid, home to Ibero-American institutions; Paris, heart of European diplomacy; Heidelberg, bridge between continental and Atlantic Europe; and Tampa, gateway to the Americas. Few international relations degrees combine these locations with a U.S.-accredited credential.
The curriculum covers international relations theory, public international law, global political economy, conflict resolution, diplomatic communication, and foreign policy analysis, with applied learning through negotiation simulations, study missions, and projects with international organizations. You will learn to draft policy briefs, interpret global events, and communicate with precision in English, the lingua franca of contemporary diplomacy.
Studying this degree abroad in English prepares you for multilateral organizations, foreign ministries, international NGOs, geopolitical risk consulting, and global media. Online delivery complements on-campus study for students who begin remotely and complete at a European or U.S. campus.
With intakes in February, June, and September, 2026 tuition of €15,420 at European campuses and $17,610 in Tampa, and scholarships up to 50% in Heidelberg, Schiller democratizes access to international-caliber diplomatic training without enrolling in a prohibitively expensive elite Anglo-American university.
These are the courses you will take during the programme.
The curriculum integrates history of international relations, IR theory, international organizations, international law, political economy, security studies, negotiation and mediation, intercultural communication, and social science research methodology. Students participate in Model UN simulations, debates on international crises, and visits to diplomatic institutions in each campus city, turning theory into lived experience.
Employability spans international civil service, foreign policy analyst, NGO advisor, international correspondent, country risk consultant, and further study in master's programs — including Schiller's MA in International Relations and Diplomacy with UNITAR partnership. Studying international relations abroad in English differentiates your profile from monolingual graduates and demonstrates the cultural adaptability essential in modern diplomacy.

Madrid hosts Complutense, Carlos III, IE-linked routes and many private colleges along Metro lines. Rent in central districts is high; students often share piso rooms in Lavapiés, Moncloa corridors or suburbs linked by Cercanías.
Non-EU students usually need admission, proof of funds, health insurance and a study stay authorization before travel. Spanish and English programs coexist — confirm language of instruction and homologación of prior degrees.
